Oh, I love this ‘verse! The continued story of man-and-pet, complete with revelations as to what actually happened at the farm, brain scans from an eccentric artist, and Blaine telling Kurt that he loves him. Because, really, love is one of the most simple human emotions, and this fic is brilliant in showing that it actually means less from a more intelligent being, who analyses every move and takes careful consideration, versus a man with limited IQ whose eyes light up every time his lover enters the room. I was glad to see that I still have some drabbles to read!

Please realize that this is not your average love story in any way, shape or form. This is a very alternative pairing and if the idea of intellectual in-equals bothers you a great deal, I will be the first to tell you that this is definitely not the story for you. Blaine in this story is not a furre, not a hybrid, not a were-animal, not anything like that… he is a person with a genetically inherited, severely low IQ.

  

I started reading this fic almost as a joke. “Oh look, Blaine is Kurt’s pet. This could get awkward.” I think it stopped being a joke when I had tears streaming down my face, unable to stop crying, at four in the morning. Glee and Klaine have taught me so much about acceptance, and I sort of half thought that this fic would make me okay with the idea of having humans as pets. I was wrong. Instead, I was swept into a world where humans are kept as pets, and I’m standing opposed to it. This was totally not what I expected it to be, and I’ll be recommending it for years to come… – Wait, there’s a sequel?

I love this fic so much. I may even go as far to say it’s my favourite ever Klaine ‘verse. Yes, above Dalton. The language is soft, like the foam on the top of a well-made coffee, and their love is just as sweet. The additional drabbles, found on the tumblr link, are the perfect addition, and brilliant to read alongside the fic in chronological order. The story itself is a perfect shot of caffeine to get you through a long night or to wake you up in the morning (and as a recent coffee convert I can tell you it’s enough to make you fall in love with the beverage). Make sure you check out all the extra links on the tumblr page – Kurt’s clothing company logo is beautiful, stunning. I cannot speak too strongly about this ‘verse. I’m in love with it and I hope it never ends.

If the graphics and PDF itself wasn’t enough to make me fall in love with the fic, the story and the characters certainly were. OCs were added seamlessly and I have found myself influenced by them one more than one occasion. Though the whole ‘Blaine as a dad’ situation seems both unlikely and unfortunate, it brings Klaine together closer than I think I’ve ever read. This fic was a joy to read from beginning to end, and I’m glad I had the ‘Allegories from Adrian’ to ease me out of the ‘verse slowly.

If you like Klex and cocky Blaine, you’ll love this. Also a lot of angst regarding Blaine’s past, and his ankle monitor. And more sex.

I spent a thoroughly enjoyable day reading this; I felt blessed to have such a well written story in my hands. Though their relationship is forbidden, Blaine finds it hard to stay professional, and Kurt just wants him to open up a little bit more. And then the stalker becomes so much more real, and Kurt thinks that maybe having a live-in bodyguard isn’t such a bad thing after all. Reading this will stay with me forever, and can I just take a minute to highlight how beautiful the penname is?

It’s a good thing they’re made for each other, because there are 26 more miles to the finish line.

I actually read this after the sequel (After), and am glad I did. Although it may not seem to make sense to read them out of order, this acts as almost a flashback to the events which happen in the epilogue. If, however, you were to read them in the intended order, you will see a beautiful love story, the pain and the sweat and love so startlingly real that it isn’t a surprise to discover the author runs marathons.

The epilogue to Anywhere You Go, the runner!klaine trilogy, written after this year’s Boston Marathon. It’s been three years since Kurt met Blaine back in Ohio, the morning of his first marathon. Some things stay the same, but today (the day of Blaine’s first New York City Marathon) something big is going to change.

Although this is a follow-on fic, I really don’t think it matters if you read this or Anywhere You Go (I’ll Follow You Down) first. I read this one first, basking in the feelings and the humour and the memories. However much you hate running, this could make you want to put on a pair of trainers and get to the finishing line. After all, you never know what is going to be waiting for you.
