I read this fic a while ago, but still even hearing its name sets something alight within me. If there’s one theme I love across every literary genre, it’s mystery. This fic has it in buckets. A reader with a good eye will spot it early on. A reader who has become so absorbed in the story that they forget even their own name might realise it just before the characters they are reading about do. Even without the mystery and suspense, however, this will have you awake in the wee small hours. The story is summarized perfectly (on the PDF version) with a list of names, numbers, Glee references and so on, and reading this you really appreciate the craft of the writer. Well deserving of five stars, and even more deserving of your viewing.

A fill for this GKM prompt. AU after The Break Up. Blaine finds out that he’s pregnant after Kurt breaks up with him (with Kurt’s child, no less). He tries telling Kurt about it, but Kurt refuses to talk to him. Blaine decides to finish his senior year at home and give the baby up for adoption. Only he doesn’t. He ends up keeping the baby — a daughter — and takes her to New York with him when he leaves for college. He raises her partially on his own with some help from his parents, and tries to juggle parenthood, school, and work. And everything works out okay for a little over two years — until he runs into Kurt.

I always have a lot of tabs open, and most of them usually go forgotten after they’re hidden under twelve open Amazon pages and a load more fic. Not this one. Since I first read it, this fic has been constantly open on my iPad and I check it for an update every day. The other day, I got my wish, and got to read on another chapter in this magnificent fic. The situations are tricky, the emotions explode, the relationships are often held together with only the thinnest strings of hope, and it’s exhilarating. I want to recommend it to the world, for everyone to refresh the page every day in the hope of reading more about Joy and her dads. A beautiful, touching story. I’d recommend it even if you don’t like mpreg.

This fic. It sends shivers down my spine just thinking about it. It is so wonderfully put together, with additional content on Kurt and Blaine’s separate blogs which includes Q&A sessions, photos, music. The premise of the story is fantastic in itself, but the execution? There are metaphors in this fic which make your head explode for their sheer beauty (a fact which I have often told the author about – and she is so modest). It is no surprise at all that this story is making its way into a published book. If you only read one more multichaptered Klaine fic, make it this one.

Oh, I love this ‘verse! The continued story of man-and-pet, complete with revelations as to what actually happened at the farm, brain scans from an eccentric artist, and Blaine telling Kurt that he loves him. Because, really, love is one of the most simple human emotions, and this fic is brilliant in showing that it actually means less from a more intelligent being, who analyses every move and takes careful consideration, versus a man with limited IQ whose eyes light up every time his lover enters the room. I was glad to see that I still have some drabbles to read!

This time I’m taking the whole of the prologue for the excerpt, because that’s all I needed before I was hooked. My mind has been buzzing with little lines I could put here: I never knew I had a James Bond kink; if there’s something I love even more than badboy!Blaine it’s badass!Kurt; this is the most perfect relationship ever and I want it. In the end, I just want to say that this is a fic well worth reading. If the guns and hacking isn’t your thing, then the metaphors and word play will get you. And once again, their relationship? It’s the sexiest thing I’ve ever read.

Please realize that this is not your average love story in any way, shape or form. This is a very alternative pairing and if the idea of intellectual in-equals bothers you a great deal, I will be the first to tell you that this is definitely not the story for you. Blaine in this story is not a furre, not a hybrid, not a were-animal, not anything like that… he is a person with a genetically inherited, severely low IQ.

  

I started reading this fic almost as a joke. “Oh look, Blaine is Kurt’s pet. This could get awkward.” I think it stopped being a joke when I had tears streaming down my face, unable to stop crying, at four in the morning. Glee and Klaine have taught me so much about acceptance, and I sort of half thought that this fic would make me okay with the idea of having humans as pets. I was wrong. Instead, I was swept into a world where humans are kept as pets, and I’m standing opposed to it. This was totally not what I expected it to be, and I’ll be recommending it for years to come… – Wait, there’s a sequel?

Wow. This has been on my reading list for weeks, but I have been putting it off because of exams. With the first ones out of the way, I stuck in… and didn’t stop reading until it had finished. Although not noticeably different, the language and phrasing used made my own writing style different in emails sent whilst I was reading it. And as for the plot of the story itself? I won’t give too much away. There are dark moments, sexual moments, and moments that are so unexpected that you wonder if you actually read them. If you want to know more about the warnings and possible triggers, please contact the writer directly. The visual content itself makes the fic a must-read, and the careful editing makes you question what the original pictures and videos were, because surely this is what it’s meant to be. This is one story that I shall certainly be reading the sequel for.

Having been out of touch from fanfic for so long, I was surprised at the speed at which I read this fic. On the other hand, it shouldn’t be a surprise at all. Why? Because this fic was incredibly enjoyable. Kurt moves in to the tower attached to the Anderson’s home and, whilst worried about his father, is now worrying about something else. His foster brother, Blaine. And why is Mr Anderson never around? And really, what is it with Blaine and horses?
